Petrey said she is the only candidate not taking any corporate money and was framed as a “progressive.”
Calling for tax code reform, universal healthcare and abolishing ICE, Petrey’s policies include banning venture capital and private equity from being able to own single-family homes, incentivizing cities to invest in rezoning and affordable housing construction, increasing the federal minimum wage and reinstating DEI.
Regarding ICE, Petrey said she is calling for an immediate end to 287(g) programs, the ICE partnerships with local police departments across Kentucky. She also advocated for a 365-day pause on ICE activity to properly assess its activity.
“We must investigate and prosecute, to the fullest extent of the law, every single person who is complicit in this horrendous attack on our Constitution and to the murderers of Alex Pretti, Renee Nicole Good and all of the countless others who have died at the hands of this administration,” Petrey said.
